Hello, my Lovely, and welcome back to The Midlife Edit, a slower note in your inbox, a place to land for a moment.
This week has felt tender in the best way. Less about pushing forward, more about noticing what’s already unfolding.
I’ve been reflecting a lot on how far this season has carried me, not in dramatic leaps, but in small, steady choices. Choosing to begin where I am. Choosing to trust my own rhythm. Choosing to let things grow at their own pace.
That’s something midlife keeps teaching me again and again. Growth doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like a quiet commitment. Showing up. Staying. Letting yourself bloom without forcing it.
Lately, I’ve been noticing how often growth arrives quietly. Not in grand declarations or sudden breakthroughs, but in small, almost unremarkable moments, a shift in how I speak to myself, a gentler decision, a deeper trust in my own timing.
Choosing Blossom as my word for 2025 wasn’t about forcing change or chasing a version of myself I hadn’t yet reached. It was about intention. About allowing. And, somehow, without pushing, things began to open. That’s the kind of growth midlife keeps offering us when we stop gripping so tightly and start trusting what’s already unfolding.
I’ve also been sitting with the idea of beginning exactly where I am. Not waiting for more energy, more clarity, or more confidence. Just starting from the truth. From the body I’m in. From the season I’m in. From the life that’s actually here. There’s a quiet power in that choice — one that feels especially important in midlife, when we’re often told we should be further along, or already “sorted.”
Out of all of this reflection, something new has been taking shape. A space to hold the everyday thoughts, the lived wisdom, the half-formed realisations and the moments that don’t always belong in polished essays. My Midlife Living Journal is exactly that, part diary, part companion, part becoming. A place where I can write honestly about what it really looks like to live this season, in real time.
What I keep coming back to is this: you don’t need to have it all figured out to be growing. Sometimes, blooming looks like showing up as you are, trusting the process, and giving yourself permission to live, not perform, your way forward.

A Note from the Nest
Since my last The Midlife Edit, two moments that landed quietly but deeply.
The Centre of Excellence Contribution Award arrived, the trophy and the certificate, side by side. A tangible reminder of a path that began without any intention of recognition. When I first started writing and speaking about midlife, I wasn’t trying to build a platform or be seen. I was simply telling the truth. Mine. Ours. The kind of truth that so often gets softened, dismissed, or ignored once a woman reaches this chapter of life.
What began as personal reflection slowly revealed itself as purpose. A deep knowing that midlife is not an ending, but a powerful in-between. A place of remembering. Of unbecoming. Of choosing yourself again after years of putting everyone else first.
This award isn’t about achievement. It’s about contribution. About showing up with honesty when it would be easier to stay quiet. About naming the messy, the tender, the confusing, and the beautiful parts of becoming. About holding space for women who are quietly asking, Is there more for me?
There is.
To every woman navigating midlife, menopause, reinvention, grief, growth, or rebirth, this is for you. Your story matters. Your voice matters. Your becoming matters. Thank you for walking this path with me. I’m deeply grateful.
And then, in a much quieter but equally meaningful way, I marked this season with two tiny tattoos. Both soft. Both intentional. Both carrying what words never quite can.
On my left hand: Becoming. A reminder that I’m no longer chasing a future version of myself. I’m living her, one quiet choice at a time. This year changed me more than I expected, and instead of shrinking, I expanded. I softened. I listened. I grew. I wanted something on my body that reflected that inner shift.
On my right hand: two intertwined hearts. A symbol of self-love, connection, and the version of me who finally knows how to receive. Love from myself. Love from others. Love from life, in all the ways it’s showing up right now.
These aren’t aesthetic decisions. They’re acknowledgements. Me saying: I see who I’ve been. I honour who I am. And I’m walking into who I’m becoming with my whole heart open.
This chapter feels different. Softer. Deeper. More intentional. More supported. More expansive.
And last week, I honoured it, quietly, and in ink.
I’d love for you to subscribe to Midlife by Design: Curating Your Next Chapter, where you’ll receive weekly reflections, letters, and stories to help you design your midlife with purpose, beauty, and calm intention.
