It’s late. The house is quiet, and my perimenopausal mind, as it often does, refuses to rest. So I find myself, tea in hand, wandering down a rabbit hole of business advice on Substack. Two lines stop me in my tracks:
“Your Substack isn’t a blog. It’s the front door to your business ecosystem.”
and
“Your pricing isn’t about what you charge. It’s about who you repel.”
I read them once, twice, maybe three times. And suddenly, something clicks, a truth I’ve danced around for years lands with a quiet, grounding thud in my chest.
I’ve spent so long nurturing my platforms, writing from the heart, sharing insights, creating, and yet, somewhere in the mix, I’ve been undercharging and undervaluing my own work. Not because I didn’t believe in what I offer, but because, if I’m honest, I didn’t fully believe in myself.
There it is. The ache beneath the strategy.
For so long, I’ve treated my business, my blog, my podcast, and my Substack as a space to serve, to share freely, to inspire, to guide, and while that’s still true, I now see that it’s also meant to be the invitation into something deeper. Each post, each podcast, each reflection is a doorway, not just into my thoughts, but into the ecosystem of my work. The heart of what I do.
Free content opens hearts. My deeper offerings open lives. And that’s the shift I’m stepping into.
I don’t want to attract readers who skim and scroll. I want to connect with women who feel this work in their bones, who see my offerings not as “products,” but as pathways to their own transformation.
It’s not about chasing a bigger audience. It’s about calling in the right one. The ones who believe, like I do, that midlife isn’t an ending, it’s a rebirth.
And when it comes to pricing, I see it differently now, too. It’s not about money, it’s about energy. Every price tag is a boundary. Every offer is a declaration of worth.
I’m done setting prices from fear, from the place that whispers, “Will they pay that?” Instead, I’m learning to set them from faith, from the place that says, “This is the value I bring. This is the transformation I create.”
Because when we underprice our work, we’re not being humble. We’re being hesitant. We’re shrinking something sacred to fit inside someone else’s comfort zone.
This is my quiet, courageous shift: from proving to believing, from offering to inviting, from creating content to curating transformation.
This next season in my business feels different, softer, wiser, clearer. My Substack, my courses, my podcast, they’re all threads in a bigger tapestry. A living, breathing ecosystem that reflects not just what I do, but who I am.
And that’s what I want to leave you with this week, whether you’re building a business, tending your home, or rediscovering yourself in midlife:
You are the energy that sets the tone for everything you create. When you value your voice, the world listens differently.
