I finally slept through the night. A full, deep, uninterrupted sleep. The kind my body has been pleading for. But when I opened my eyes at 10 am, I still didn’t want to move. I could’ve happily stayed wrapped in my duvet cocoon, half-dreaming, hiding from the heat and the world.
The last few days have been hard. This heat has been brutal, and Perimenopause isn’t exactly a quiet guest. It turns everything up: the discomfort, the irritability, the fatigue. My energy has been low, and if I’m honest, so has my mood.
There’s a fog that sets in with this season, summer outside, but a kind of emotional autumn inside.
This morning, I found comfort where I always do: in daydreams of Autumn.
I let myself scroll through Pinterest boards of burnt orange leaves, candlelit corners, thick socks, and cinnamon-laced everything. I watched cosy YouTube videos, imagining soft jumpers and cooler days. And just like that, the spark returned.
It inspired me to begin creating Autumn content, so stay tuned. This soul is ready to gently turn toward what nourishes.
While I was pottering about, I found myself checking in on my plant babies. The heat’s been tough on them, too. I’ve been misting them throughout the day, gently wiping their leaves, checking in like a mother would. It felt oddly healing to tend to something living, something growing, something still rooted in the chaos.
Maybe that’s what I’ve been craving, too—some tenderness.
Because the truth is… I’ve been sitting in the space between.
That strange in-between where I’ve outgrown an old version of myself, but haven’t yet stepped fully into the new one.
And it’s uncomfortable.
Like being barefoot in a doorway, one foot behind, the other not quite ready to land.
But then a thought came through, like a thread of gold:
Before anything shifts around you, something must shift within you.
The life I’m longing for doesn’t begin with the “right” time or perfect conditions.
It begins in my mind.
My thoughts are not just passing whispers.
They are seeds.
They grow into how I show up, what I believe I deserve, and the way I take up space.
If my mind is filled with fear, I choose small. I shrink. I stay silent.
But when I start to believe in something more…
Life starts to meet me there.
You cannot walk into a new life with the same old thoughts.
So today, I’m feeding my mind hope.
Gentleness.
Discipline.
Vision.
Not because I feel ready. But because I know that readiness is often a result of commitment, not the other way around.
You don’t have to be fearless. Just faithful.
You don’t have to be loud. Just consistent.
Start within.
Tend to your inner soil.
And then watch what begins to grow.
