The other morning, I stood at the edge of the forest behind our cabin, wrapped in the hushed pre-dawn chill. The world hadn’t quite woken up yet, the birds still quiet, the sky just beginning to blush. I sipped my tea and felt something I hadn’t in a while:
Alignment.
Not because I’d followed a strict routine, but because I’d softened into the rhythm of that dawn.
It reminded me that life doesn’t live in rigid schedules; it lives in rhythms that feel true to our bodies. Especially in midlife, when hormones shift, sleep changes, and the old “rules” of productivity no longer serve us.
I’ve had times when I lost that rhythm completely, ignoring the cues of my body, pushing through fatigue, drowning in the noise of deadlines and screens. But lately, I’ve been finding my way back. Not through an overhaul, but through small, steady rituals: a sunrise pause, a midday breath, a candlelit journal at night.
It’s not about doing more. It’s about aligning with what feels real, gentle, and sustainable.
I’ve written more about this and shared 7 Gentle Pathways to Rediscover Your Rhythm in Midlife, along with journaling prompts to guide you, over on my website. You can read the full piece here: https://kiransinghuk.com/returning-to-rhythm-midlife-alignment-with-your-natural-clock/.
Maybe you’ll find something in it that meets you exactly where you are right now.
