You write as someone who has watched a whole generation of women pour their warmth into everyone else’s cup while their own coffee goes stone cold on the counter and decided you are not willing to inherit that story.

There is something quietly revolutionary in the way you treat a still hot mug of tea and a slower, narrower business as nervous system non‑negotiables proof that your soft life is not the aesthetic on top of the work but the ground your whole next chapter is being built on.

Life's gotten busy especially in my 70s. I have conditioned myself to concentrate on one thing at a time. I don't let my coffee get cold after I pour it. But I drink it while I'm reading Substacks. The garlic harvest can wait until I'm done. I don't allow the window washing to get to me. Maybe I should get up earlier. Ha.
