As I sit here with my award certificate and the trophy in hand, the Contribution Award for making a difference in my local community and going out of my way to help others, I can’t help but pause. This year, I also received the Most Dedicated Female Health Coach award and Women’s Life Coach of the Year. It’s an honour. I’m beyond grateful, and honestly, a little humbled.
But here’s the truth: I didn’t always feel this way.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve been honoured with more than 15 national and international awards as well as numerous features in media, both nationally and internationally. And for a long time, maybe the first 12 years or so, I thought those awards were proof that I was enough. That external recognition somehow confirmed my worth.
I was chasing validation when what I really needed was acceptance, my own.
But over the last few years, through the quiet work of self-discovery, I’ve realised something beautifully simple:
I don’t need to earn my enoughness. I already am.
These days, recognition feels different. It’s no longer about proving my value; it’s about celebrating my alignment. The woman I’ve become. The purpose I find in living each day. The impact that flows naturally when you stop trying to be someone and start showing up as yourself.
So, if you’ve ever felt unseen or questioned your worth, remember this:
You are already enough, with or without the applause. The only validation that truly matters is your own.
This week’s reflection:
Where in your life are you still waiting for permission or praise that only you can give yourself?
Write it down. Then whisper to yourself, “I am already enough.”
