The past few days at the cabin have been deeply quiet, the kind of quiet that hums beneath your skin and makes you notice things you’d usually scroll past.
I’ve had more time to myself than I’ve had in decades. No running errands, no client calls, no grocery shopping or meeting people. Just stillness.
And what I realised this morning is that I usually fill that stillness.
With something. Anything.
Scrolling. Working. Researching. Ticking off tasks that don’t really matter.
And if I’m home, I’ll declutter, clean out drawers, rearrange cupboards, and simplify my space.
But here, in this cabin, I don’t have cupboards to clear.
So I cleared my business instead.
I’ve been feeling for a while now that being on every platform, doing all the things, isn’t aligned anymore. And today, I made the decision:
No more Facebook group. No more Mailchimp.
I’m moving everything to Substack.
It’s not about being on trend. It’s about energy. With perimenopause shifting so much inside of me, my moods, my sleep, my energy levels, I need simplicity.
I need clarity.
I need to know exactly where to show up and how, so I can do it with love, not exhaustion.
The more I simplify, the more energy I have for what matters most. And in this season? That means fewer platforms and more purpose.
On today’s Tea with Self, I shared why I create and write. Why I bleed onto the page and call it healing. If that speaks to you, go read it.
Because this is the bottom line:
Simplify.
Where you can, when you can. So you can spend more time with the people, projects, and passions that truly matter.
