Hi, 😊
There will always be something else to do: another email, a load of washing, a decision, a person who needs something, a task waiting patiently on the list.
If you make rest dependent on completion, you may never get there, because life doesn’t have a finish line. So perhaps rest needs to become part of the rhythm rather than something we squeeze into the gaps.
A slow morning. A nap. A walk without a destination. A bath. A book. Twenty minutes staring out of the window. An afternoon where you deliberately do less with no guilt attached.
Rest isn’t laziness, weakness, or something you have to earn by exhausting yourself first. Your body and mind are not machines that exist to produce things for everyone else; they are where you live.
So today, ask yourself: What would rest look like if I didn’t have to justify it?
Then give yourself a little of it, not when everything is done, but now.
See you tomorrow for your next Midlife Edit ❤️

If you are exhausted enough, ill enough, burnt out enough, grieving enough, or productive enough beforehand, then perhaps you are allowed to stop for a moment. But even then, many women do not rest cleanly. They rest while feeling guilty. Rest while menta…
If something I’ve written has made you pause, think, smile, or see your own life a little differently, and you’d like to send a little love back my way, you can buy me a Matcha Latte.
It helps me keep creating these little moments of reflection, encouragement, and possibility for you. And honestly, knowing that something I’ve written has landed with you is the loveliest support of all.
