Hi 😊,
When someone asks for your time or assistance, your immediate instinct is probably to check your diary. If there happens to be an open hour on Tuesday afternoon, you automatically say yes. But midlife teaches us, often through hard experience, that calendar availability is not the same thing as emotional capacity.
Having a blank space on paper does not mean you have the internal reserves to host a long conversation, solve someone else’s crisis, or take on an extra project. Real self-care requires shifting from time management to energy accounting. When you audit your commitments by how much vitality they require rather than how many minutes they consume, you begin to protect your peace with far greater clarity.
Today’s inspired action: Before agreeing to any new invitation or request today, pause for ten seconds and ask your body if it actually has the energy to give.
See you tomorrow!

Day 5: Honour Your Energy #WhatNowToWatchMe
Energy is like a tide; it rises and falls. Yet so often we expect ourselves to be “on” all day, every day. Midlife invites us to honour the truth: our energy is precious, and when we align with it, life flows more gently.
