I think a lot of people subscribe to the notion that love will show up when they're ready. It's not always that neat and tidy. I started dating my partner - who is by far the best person I've ever shared my life with - right as his dad was dying, both of my hips were failing me, I got laid off, then my dad died, etc., etc. In fact, the right person is the one who stands firm with you through all of that, who chooses to lean on you or let you lean on him.

I love your openness to letting the universe bring you more opportunities, but reading between the lines, it seems like you really want to meet someone. If that's the case, there's no shame in going to a singles event once a month or asking friends if they know any single men. Being openly intentional about wanting love is not only ok, it's something to celebrate. Of course, I am professionally biased to think this way...😂

Oh, I love this so much, Mina. And yes, I think you’re right that there’s a difference between waiting for love to arrive and actually being open and available to it.

I’m not interested in chasing love or forcing it into my life, but I also don’t want to sit back and pretend I don’t want it. I think there’s something really honest about saying, yes, I would love to meet someone, and then actually creating a little more space for that possibility to find me.

And what you said about the right person being the one who stands beside you through the messy bits really landed. Because I’m not looking for someone to arrive once everything is beautifully sorted. I want someone who meets me in real life, as it is x
