You are allowed to change your mind about your career, relationship, friendship, city, clothes, business model, dream, and the person you thought you were supposed to become.
You are allowed to say, “This was right for me then, but it isn’t right for me now.”
And you don’t need to produce a courtroom-quality defence of your decision.
We change. Our circumstances change. Our priorities change.
Sometimes the thing we wanted desperately at 35 doesn’t fit the woman standing here at 49. That doesn’t make the younger version of you foolish.
She made the best decisions she could with the information, experience, and desires she had at the time.
Thank her, then let yourself move.
I think there is enormous freedom in realising that our past choices are not contracts we have to honour forever.
You can edit, revise, close the chapter, and most importantly, begin again.
Not because you failed, but because you know more now.
Today’s reminder: Changing your mind is not always inconsistency; sometimes it is evidence that you have been paying attention.
See you tomorrow for your next Midlife Edit ❤️
