Hi, 😊,
Mother, daughter, partner, professional, dependable friend, carer. These roles are real, meaningful, and form a genuine part of who you are. But they are not the whole of you. Roles exist in relation to external demands, and when those demands shift, the ground beneath you can feel uncertain.
When you strip away the tasks, the calendar demands, and the endless list of people who rely on your competence, who is left? The work of midlife is not about abandoning your responsibilities, but ensuring those roles are being held by a woman who actually knows and honours herself.
You are allowed to exist outside of what you produce for others.
Today’s inspired action: Take ten minutes today entirely for yourself; no phone, no task, no justification. Sit in a quiet corner with a warm drink and just be the woman beneath the roles.
See you tomorrow for your next Midlife Edit ❤️
